My manager asks me to write product copy on a daily bases which I’m really not confident doing. I can write long blog posts without any issues but writing short one liners gives me anxiety. What do you call these writers if they aren’t working in a marketing environment? My title is copywriter, but I don’t do marketing materials. I work on copy decks for UX design for functional sites, giving copy instructions for…instructions! I could be considered a technical writer, but I don’t write much. Just things like, “All fields required,” or “Please provide a valid email address.” What kind of writing is that supposed to be?
You may also want to consider doing an internship at a publication you hope to work for full time in the future to make connections with editors and other writers at the publication.
